The South Bay Fun Club for Singles is very active in many sports. The Fun Club plays Volleyball, Softball, Bowling, Walks and Hikes. We have taken sailing trips, Snow Ski Trips, Water Ski Trips and Rivver Running. We also have bike Trips. participation and variety are limited to the Members imagination.
Participants are all welcome and spectators are also needed and welcomed.
Our Sunday volleyball games are for members and prospective
members only. So if you are interested in joining our club, just drop on by
and play. We give prospective members three monthly newsletters and invite
them to join all of our events. We are a club for active singles with many
activities other than volleyball. We e-mail invitations to certain events
and have a web site that you can access to find a calendar of our activities.
There are also photos so you can see who we are and what we do. If you are
single and thinking of joining, drop by Sunday ~10 AM.
Beach Walk & Happy Hour
At the El Torito
Every Monday at 6 PM
Meet at the Elks Lodge south parking lot at intersection of Catalina and The Esplanade at 6 PM. We walk to the south end of the bicycle path and back. This is a 4-mile workout, which can be very good for you. Walking is followed by a Happy Hour Buffet from 5 – 8 PM. We are now going to El Torito on the pier If you don't walk, you can just go to El Torrito at 7 PM, and the walkers will join you later. Call Maureen (310) 318-5922 for details.
BEACH VOLLEYBALL
Beach Volleyball
Sunday's at 9:30 AM
Lots of fun and exercise. The action takes place on the beach between Avenue
G & H in Redondo Beach. There is lunch nearby after the games (around
noon). Call Ernie at (372-6663) for more info.

Sunday's at 12:15 PM Come join the volleyball players for lunch at the Redondo Beach Brewing Company, 1814 S. Catalina, Redondo Beach (316-8477).
Tennis At Alta Vista Racquet Club
Thursday , September 6th 6 - 8 PM
Please join the fun club Tennis Players for 2 hours of tennis playing for great exercise and socialization. All levels are welcome. Cost is $5 per person. Alta Vista Racquet Club is located at 715 Julia Ave., Redondo Beach, just West of Prospect off Knob Hill Ave, (310) 318-0670. Please join Alta Vista for $5 per year for Redondo Beach Residents and $10 per year for Non-Residents to reduce the cost to rent courts. Call host, Fran Holl at (714) 299-7149 (cell) if you plan on playing so we reserve enough courts.

Join us for a fun afternoon. Bring your chairs, favorite CD's, equipment for
softball, tennis gear and
be ready for a relaxing, enjoyable afternoon. Please RSVP to your hosts Fran

much food to purchase. The club will supply hot dogs, hamburgers, salads,
corn on the cob, chips and dips, rolls, desserts, water, soda, and paper products.
Alcohol is not permitted at El Retiro Park. The cost is $10 for members, $15
for non-members. Please call Fran or Jan if you want to be on the committee
for this event. They need your help.

Beach/Malaga Cove Hike and Brunch
Saturday, May 5th at 10 AM
Join your host Kathy Byrd for some outdoors exercise. Meet at Miramar Park
by the statue. This is on the south side of the Torrance Beach parking lot
where The Esplanade ends. Address is 201 Paseo de la Playa. We will hike along
the beach on the sand down to the rocks at Malaga Cove and up the pathway,
then we will follow the path and come down Palos Verdes Blvd to Paseo de la
Playa and back to Torrance Beach. Brunch afterwards in the Riviera Village
at Ole Firegrilled Fresh Mex. Address is 1617 S. PCH (corner of Elena &
Ave I). Food is ordered at the counter so separate checks is not an issue.
